Climb. Study. Hang out. A welcoming third place for beginners, students, faculty, staff, locals, and experienced climbers.
Your third place
Home is home. Campus is campus. Mosaic is where your day continues.
Head setter Randy, a USAC Level 4 Routesetter, and the Mosaic setting team create fresh problems every week, with beginner-friendly white tags and projects for experienced climbers.
Bring your laptop, settle into the community table, and make Mosaic part of your day.
Meet climbing partners, stay after your session, relax on the patio, and become a familiar face.
Inside Mosaic
High walls, natural light, a patio, study space, and the Telegraph energy that makes Mosaic feel different from a typical gym.
Why Berkeley climbs here
Come solo or with friends. Mosaic is built for conversation between climbs.
Head setter Randy and the setting team keep the walls fresh with new problems every week.
Walk over between classes, after studying, or when you need a reset.
Qualifying members get two free monthly visits to each of seven Northern California partner gyms.
The Mosaic Cup
Build a team of 3–6 climbers and compete in a four-week Mosaic Cup season. Each week features 9 Cup Boulders across Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.
Climbers earn 1 point for each Cup Boulder sent at their ability level or above, up to 4 points per week. Team score is based on average points per registered climber, so larger teams do not get an automatic advantage.
Top teams win prizes, and the Team Send Award recognizes the team with the most total Cup Boulders sent during the season.

Students, graduate students, faculty, staff, locals, first-timers, and regulars share the same walls, the same patio, and the same weekly rhythm.
